Name: Porcupine mine.

Location: The mine is located in Timmins, Ontario, Canada.

Controlling Company: Goldcorp.

Brief Description: Porcupine comprises the Hoyle Pond, Dome, Stockpile and Hollinger operations, all of which supply the Dome processing facility. The mine has invested capital in the Hoyle Pond operation to build an internal winze (Hoyle Deep) to allow for mining at depth in a more productive and cost-efficient manner.

Brief History: The Porcupine mine has been operating for more than a century. In 2015, Porcupine marked its 105th year of continuous mine- and-mill operations. The mine has produced more than 67-million ounces of gold since production began.

During 2015, the Hollinger openpit ramped up and started 24/7 production.

Products: Gold.

Geology/Mineralisation: The Porcupine mines are situated in the Porcupine Camp, in Archean rocks of the western Abitibi greenstone belt in the Canadian Shield. These consist of ultramafic and mafic volcanic rocks of the Keewatin subgroup, overlain by sedimentary rocks of the Timiskaming group. The lands are situated adjacent and to the north of the regionally significant Porcupine Destor fault. Gold mineralisation is found in several different structural settings and comprises continuous quartz carbonate veins, quartz tourmaline veins, quartz stockworks and gold associated with disseminated sulphides.

Reserves: Total proven and probable gold mineral reserves as of June 30, 2016, were estimated at 45.70-million tonnes grading 1.55 g/t gold.

Resources: Total measured and indicated gold mineral resources as at June 30, 2016, were estimated 223.22-million tonnes grading 1.19 g/t gold. Inferred mineral resources were estimated at 45.15-million tonnes grading 1.64 g/t gold.

Mining Method: Underground and stockpiles. Mining methods currently employed are mechanised cut and fill, and long-hole.

Major Infrastructure and Equipment: The Hoyle Pond underground mine is accessed through a decline and by a shaft. Extracted ore is transported by trucks and orepasses to the winze for hoisting. The winze configuration allows for mining to the 2 600 m horizon, currently the mining horizon is 1 540 m.

Gold is recovered using gravity concentration and cyanidation techniques. The circuit consists of primary, secondary and tertiary crushing, rod/ball mill grinding, gravity concentration, cyanide leaching, carbon-in-pulp gold recovery, stripping, electrowinning and refining.

Prospects: Dome Century is a new project proposed at Porcupine for which a concept study for a potential new large-scale openpit mine is currently under way.

The project has a gold indicated mineral resource of 130.60-million tonnes grading 1.07 g/t, and 35-million tonnes grading 0.81 g/t of gold mineral resource. A recent update to the geological model for Porcupine's Dome openpit revealed additional mineralisation as a halo to high-grade material, which was previously mined from underground. The dimensions of this mineralised envelope and a preliminary analysis indicate the potential to further extend openpit mining well below the existing pit.

With the completion of the resource estimate, the concept study will evaluate the development of an expanded openpit on this zone. The concept study is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2017 and will, with positive results expected, proceed for internal approval to fund a prefeasibility study.
