VANCOUVER – Operations restarted at Newmont Mining's two gold mines in Ghana on Monday, a company spokesperson said, after they were shut down on Saturday following an accident in which six construction workers were killed.

Civil works on the mill expansion project at Newmont's Ahafo project, where the accident occurred, remain suspended, the spokesperson said in an email.
