High-quality lubricants distributor OILY SA is exhibiting its premium European-made Gazpromneft and G-Energy brands of oils and lubricants at Electra Mining Africa 2018.

G-Energy offers technologically advanced lubricants that are developed and manufactured in Bari, Italy. They are blended using only superior-quality base oils and additives sourced from major international suppliers. G-Energy products are well suited for the most demanding applications.

G-Energy motor oils adapt to various engine operation modes, from low revolution per minute idling to strenuous mining applications, owing to their use of adaptive components formula technology. The technology enhances the performance attributes of modern vehicles by activating the necessary additives at the right time, depending on the engine operation mode. It also provides superior engine protection under all operating conditions.

The G-Energy manufacturing plant is a modern manufacturing facility with a yearly capacity of about 30 000 t of high-technology oils and 6 000 t of grease lubricants. The Bari-based plant was acquired from oil giant Chevron.

G-Energy is also the original lubricants supplier for a number of heavy equipment manufacturers, including Belarussian manufacturer of haulage and earthmoving equipment BELAZ, which produces the world’s largest haul truck with the highest payload capacity.

G-Energy oils have received several approvals from the world’s leading original-equipment manufacturers (OEMs). The company’s line of racing products has also been successfully tested at the Dakar Rally, the Silk Way Rally and the Africa Eco Race, among others. The company is also continuing its sponsorship of Team STARD driver Janis Baumanis, who is currently competing in the FIA World Rallycross championship, with the final event taking place in Cape Town in November.

OILY SA director Viesturs Zalaiskalns tells Mining Weekly that the OILY Group began as a Gazpromneft-Lubricants distributor in Latvia and has since developed to include several countries worldwide, including South Africa. Gazpromneft-Lubricants’ large international presence means G-Energy lubricants are available in more than 70 countries.

“These oils are approved by European, US and Japanese automotive and industrial OEMs,” says Zalaiskalns.

“Modern technology and very strict quality requirements are the hallmarks of our products, which ensure trouble-free operation and longevity of engines, as well as other vehicle components,” he says.

Gazpromneft is another brand imported by OILY SA. It is an expertly designed industrial lubricant formulation that provides high levels of protection and performance for modern equipment. Gazpromneft lubricants are formulated using mineral and synthetic technologies, as well as an advanced additive system, to provide resistance for lubricant breakdown – caused by high temperature oxidation – and good wear control, therefore extending the life of equipment components.

Gazpromneft offers a range of products, including lubricants for speciality applications, such as hydraulic oils or lubricants for the marine industry. Gazpromneft is also one of the few companies globally to have obtained the Bosch Rexroth RDE 90245 approval rating, which is a scientifically standardised rating process and one of the most sought after approvals for hydraulic oil applications.

“Bosch Rexroth approvals involve a year of highly complex laboratory and bench tests, so being officially and unconditionally endorsed for use in the most sophisticated equipment is an impressive achievement,” states Zalaiskalns.

With the G-Energy and Gazpromneft brands being well received in South Africa, OILY SA has since started exports of its lubricants to some neighbouring Southern African countries and plans to expand into the rest of sub-Saharan Africa, as “we believe there is a large potential for growth in this region,” concludes Zalaiskalns.
