Many local and international companies will make use of the large marketing opportunity posed by this year’s Electra Mining Africa exhibition to launch their new products and cutting-edge technologies into the market. Companies are eager to reveal their new products and the new industrial innovations and breakthroughs they have achieved, and Electra Mining Africa is the perfect opportunity to do this.

Celebrating 50 years this year, Electra Mining Africa is Southern Africa’s biggest mining, electrical, automation, manufacturing, power and transport trade exhibition, and is a recognised platform for buyers and sellers to connect face-to-face, for industry networking, to build business partnerships and for new products, technologies, systems and services to be launched. With machinery and equipment on display, the show offers a platform for buyers to get up close to the products, see the quality, speak to technical experts and view the live demonstrations. It also offers the opportunity to compare products and brands.

Kal Tire will showcase its new autonomous tyre inspections, developed to detect signs of potential tyre failure outside the tyre and act on critical next steps. Pitcrew.ai’s thermal imaging software combined with TOMS (Kal Tire’s proprietary tyre maintenance planning system) will bring mines real-time inspection technology that improves safety and productivity.

Addressing growing demand for reduced total cost of ownership, SEW-EURODRIVE South Africa will launch its DriveRadar solution for remote condition monitoring and maintenance forecasting at the show. An extensive package of sensors captures all operationally relevant physical parameters including vibration behaviour, oil level, oil temperature, ambient temperature and input speed. Also launching at Electra Mining Africa is the company’s single-stage M1 series industrial gearbox, for high speed and high power applications in mining.

Leading global filter manufacturer Donaldson will showcase its new selected HY-PRO mobile hydraulic solutions, which now form part of the Donaldson portfolio of filtration products at Electra Mining Africa.

Victaulic will introduce the Series 725T 4-Way Diverter Valve for backfill mining operations, launched this year. The new innovative design offers increased safety and productivity, less downtime and reduced maintenance compared to traditional methods of managing backfill, flush water diversion, and dumping. It features a 4-way, 3-outlet, compact design including two backfill outlets and a third drain outlet for flush water diversion and backfill dumping.

Manitou SA offers an extensive range of material handling solutions and will be showcasing its new Manitou heavy telehandlers and Manitou rotational telehandler at Electra Mining Africa.

EMCO Cranes has developed a unique mobile gantry crane to replace the bowls of mining trucks. The new innovation significantly reduces the time and safety risks associated with a bowl change operation and with truck downtime minimised, it increases efficiencies across the entire mining operation.

De-Tect Unit Inspection will launch its latest innovations in manual and automated ultrasonic scanning systems, including Phased Array, Time of Flight Diffraction (ToFD), A-scan and Guided Wave techniques; Electrical surface heating, induction heating, trace heating refractory dry outs and curing, ladle drying, on site pre and post weld heat treatments and metallurgical services and feasibility studies to validate and qualify proposed procedures.

Embrace ERP will showcase its newly released version of the Embrace ERP business software at Electra Mining Africa. The company will demonstrate how clients can access their data, adopt new technologies and embrace digital transformation.

FOGMAKER South Africa will launch its new Q-Tec Foam-spray fire suppression system for large mobile and stationary equipment at Electra Mining Africa this year. The solution offers the most advanced and developed foam-spray fire suppression systems for mining companies and is ideal for mobile mining equipment and fixed plant such as diesel bowsers and conveyor belts.

A range of air compressors from the global ELGi and FS-Elliott brands will share space alongside Integrated Air Solutions. ELGi is launching their new PG 45 Electric Portable Compressor. Featuring advanced technology and a compact footprint, these eco-friendly electric compressors set a new standard in the portable segment, offering the benefit of quiet and emission-less operation across the entire range.

These are just a few of the many more new products, live demonstrations and innovation displays that will be at this year’s event.

Electra Mining Africa and its line-up of conferences and free-to-attend seminars will take place from 5-9 September at the Expo Centre, Nasrec, in Johannesburg.
