Screening and vibrating equipment solutions and services provider Aury Africa has announced that a complete range of newly-designed continuous slot polyurethane (PU) panels with improved efficiency, drainage and durability is now available to the South African mining sector.

These panels are ideal for all applications where wedge wire and poly wedge panels were used historically for desliming, dewatering, and drain/rinse screens, as well as static decks.

While Aury Africa is targeting the coal mining industry in the Mpumalanga coalfields at present – where current customers include thermal coal washing plant Phola Coal Handling and Processing Plant, multinational mining company Anglo American, energy company Msobo Coal, and exploration and mining company Canyon Coal – it is also looking at the chrome and platinum sectors for diversified growth. One mining operation in particular is looking at a potential order of 600 panels a month.

“Our first priority is to get the panels introduced into the mining industry, and then to gauge the overall interest and demand, so we can tweak our manufacturing capability and stockholding accordingly,” Aury Africa MD Sydney Parkhouse comments.

The 305 mm × 305 mm continuous slot PU panels are suitable for vibrating screens. Easy to install, the panels offer increased wear life for enhanced productivity. Parkhouse highlights that various aperture sizes are available for specific requirements, from 0.50 mm to 0.63 mm, 0.80 mm, 1 mm, 2 mm and 3 mm.

The introduction of the continuous slot PU panels forms part of Aury Africa’s long-term strategy to meet the requirement of the continent’s mining industry for high-quality screening and vibrating equipment solutions, supported by rapid turnaround times and expert technical backup.

Aury Africa supplies banana vibrating screens in single- and double-deck configuration, from 1.8 m × 4.8 m up to 4.8 m wide and 8.5 m long. Horizontal vibrating screens are available in single- and double-deck configuration, from 1.2 m × 2.4 m up to 4.3 m wide and 8.5 m long.

High-frequency vibrating screens are available from 0.9 m × 1.8 m up to 2.4 m × 3.7 m. Circular motion vibrating screens are available in single- and double-deck configuration, from 1.8 m × 3 m up to 3 m × 6.1 m. Flip flop vibrating screens are available in single-, double- or triple-deck configuration, from 1.5 m wide up to 12 m long.

Consumable products available include intertank/interstage cylinder screens for classification, sieve bends and static panels for separation purposes, and centrifuge baskets.

“Aury Africa is also able to supply a range of exciters to fit most original-equipment manufacturer screen types,” concludes Parkhouse.
