The mix of mining and marketing is proving itself resilient to commodity price falls and the company catching the eye with that mix is the London-, Hong Kong- and now also JSE-listed Glencore, headed by Ivan Glasenberg, pictured here at question time during a media conference in Johannesburg, at which he outlined how ongoing inward Glencore investment could potentially help State power utility Eskom to arrive at the substantial coal mining capacity it needs to sustain its many power stations that are dependent on coal as a feedstock.
