A meeting of the mines’ minds took place last week at the third annual Mining Lekgotla, the creation of a tripartite alliance consisting of representatives of government, labour and business. The alliance is symbolised in this picture by Mineral Resources Minister Ngoako Ramatlhodi in the centre, National Union of Mineworkers general secretary Frans Baleni on the right and Chamber of Mines of South Africa president Mike Teke on the left. The meeting declared that South Africa remained the world’s best mining address and attendees were urged to build the future together while acknowledging the past.
