Lighting manufacturer BEKA Schréder will launch its latest energy efficient light-emitting-diode (LED) highbay lighting solution and introduce its extensive LED bulkhead and floodlighting range at the Electra Mining Botswana expo, which

will be held at the Gaborone fairgrounds, in Botswana, from September 10 to 12.

BEKA Schréder marketing manager Grant Combrink tells Mining Weekly that the event is “a great opportunity” for the company to present its full offering of lighting products, which include floodlights, bulkheads and linear luminaires.

“We look forward to present our clients with the best possible energy-saving lighting solution through our quality LED products.”

He further highlights that it is important to not only educate end-users on the benefits of using LED lighting solutions for their applications but also inform them of the financial benefits of investing in LED lighting.

The LED range of products is cost effective and energy efficient. The LEDnova bulkhead is designed to operate LED light sources of up to 81 W in maximum ambient temperatures of at least 45 ºC without reducing the useful lifetime of the LED light of up to 100 000 hours. Other advantages of the LED range include a long lifetime and low maintenance.

The LEDnova bulkhead has also been designed to replace conventional high-intensity discharge and compact fluorescent luminaires.

The versatility of the LED product range solution enables clients to use it for outdoor and indoor lighting requirements for mining and industrial applications, such as in warehouses, manufacturing and logistics, he adds.

Combrink emphasises that BEKA Schréder prides itself on offering high specifiable lighting products to offer the best solution for each application in which it is used.

To adhere to the company’s belief of no compromise on safety in hazardous areas, such as mining, its products “are manufactured using high-quality materials, such as marine-grade aluminium, that comply to the aluminium alloy formulated for casting standards, EN AC-44300, for example.

“Mining and industrial lighting is a very high specifiable and quality-driven market with regard to lighting products; therefore, BEKA Schréder not only helps to manage risk with regard to light level compliance for clients but also provides sustainable energy-saving solutions,” Combrink concludes.
