Private-sector company Transportadora Callao has officially opened a $163-million mineral concentrates shipping terminal at the Port of Callao, west of Lima. There are plans for the Peruvian terminal’s initial capacity of 3.7-million tons in its first year to reach six-million tons a year in the longer term to meet the country’s expanding mining sector. Shown is the new conveyor loading concentrate onto a ship during the opening ceremony.
