Manufacturer Hytera is launching its first 5G terminal PNC560 as well as dual-mode device PDC680 and mobile radio MNC360 at this year’s Mining Indaba, says presales manager Hesse Ray.

This, Hytera notes, falls in line with its strategic objective to empower mines in automation, in-pit mobility, and data-centric analytics.

This, the company says, provides a converged communications platform capable of providing broadband speeds and supporting multiple data, voice, and video applications. Analyzing big data connected to this platform assists managers in decision making to maximize efficiency, productivity, safety, and profitability, while simultaneously also supporting real-time monitoring of people, machinery, and mine, situations.

Reliable two-way communication systems are a necessity that allows miners, support groups and control rooms to be in continuous contact, thus improving worker safety, which Hytera says largely contributes to the operation optimizing processes, reduce risks, cut costs, and improve margins.

As part of this objective, Hytera is showcasing a variety of its products at this year’s Investing in African Mining Indaba, with a particular focus on its Tetra range (including the ACCESSNET®-T IP SMART, MT 680 Plus, PT 790 EX, PTC 680, Smart dispatch); its DMR range (including HR1065, HM785, HP785, Smart dispatch) and its LTE range (including IBS3900, PDM 680).

Additionally, as a globally trusted provider of professional communication solutions, Hytera has supplied its business solutions to more than 120 countries and regions, which are used for private communications in public safety, transportation, emergency rescue and operator services.

This, the company says, helps companies deal with communication challenges caused by remote working and pandemic-related restrictions.

For the company itself, the new normal is driving digital transformation, following which Hytera established a powerful datahub and organized online training and meetings, which ensure business continuity so that projects are carried out smoothly despite the distances.

For business development, Hytera is harnessing the power of digital marketing to reach clients in all sectors.

Hytera has a global footprint in the global mining sector and has successfully implemented projects for clients such as Saudi Aramco Jubail Refinery Company, Sociedade Mineira de Catoca, JSC AK Altynalmas, Anglo Gold Ashanti, Sonatrach and more.
