The French Trade Commission-Business France will host its fourth French Pavilion at Electra Mining Africa, showcasing at least 12 companies’ expertise in the mining industry.

Business France in South Africa senior trade adviser Thomas Curelli explains that the previous years’ French Pavilions have been very successful as a number of exhibitors have since been able to open a subsidiary in South Africa or find a local distributor.

However, fewer companies are participating in this year’s French Pavilion, owing to depressed conditions in the South African mining and quarrying industry. Curelli notes that, although South Africa has fallen out of the top mining investment destinations in Africa, the country is still considered to be a growing economy that allows companies from France and South Africa to work together.

“Interest by French companies to participate in mining events remains high and we are confident that we will this year again be able to create successful partnerships between both countries.”

The 12 companies exhibiting at this year’s Electra Mining Africa French Pavilion are:

  • Apro Industrie, a designer and manufacturer of metallic bolted tanks.
  • Aramine, a provider of mining and underground solutions (machines, services, spare parts and components, accessories and tools).
  • CFAO/CPS Africa, distributor of brands, leader in specialised distribution in Africa and French overseas collectivities.
  • Delta Drone, a mining topographic surveying and imaging specialist.
  • Delta Neu, a provider of solutions for ventilation, dust control, pneumatic waste handling and filtration.
  • Delta Plus, a designer, manufacturer and distributor of personal protective equipment.
  • Ecole Francaise Du Drone, a training school for drone pilots with five training centres in France.
  • Eurofor Group – Technidrill, a distributor of drilling and demolition materials and equipment.
  • Hutchinson, a designer and manufacturer of sealing systems, vibration, acoustic and thermal insulation, fluid transfer systems, transmission and mobility.
  • Mersen, a global expert in electrical specialities and graphite-based materials.
  • Pronal, a manufacturer of flexible tanks, plugs, lifting bags and floats.
