Name: DeGrussa mine.

Location: The DeGrussa copper project is located within Sandfire Resources’ 100%-owned Doolgunna project, a 400 km2 tenement package, in Western Australia’s Bryah basin mineral province, about 900 km north-east of Perth.

Mine Owner/s: Sandfire Resources.

Brief Description: The DeGrussa copper/gold mine is one of the Asia Pacific region’s premier, high-grade copper mines. The operation is based on a long-term underground mine delivering sulphide ore to an on-site concentrator.

Production from the DeGrussa mine is currently sourced from Conductor 1, Conductor 4, Conductor 5 and DeGrussa. The Monty deposit is being developed as a satellite source of ore feed for the DeGrussa operation.

Brief History: DeGrussa was discovered in April 2009. Construction and development of the project was completed in 2012.

Geology/Mineralisation: The DeGrussa is a volcanogenic massive sulphide body, which is associated with hydrothermal events deep under the ocean, on the sea floor.

Mining Method: Underground.

Products: Copper and gold.

Major Infrastructure and Equipment: The underground mine comprises a 1.6-million-tonne-a-year concentrator, a tailings storage facility, power station, paste plant for the underground mine, a sealed airstrip capable of accommodating small jets, a state-of-the-art 400-room mine village, a Next G mobile phone service and fibre-optic communications, office buildings, assay laboratory and sealed access roads.

Reserves: Total proven and probable reserves as at December 31, 2017, were estimated at 8.5-million tonnes grading 3.4% copper and 1.3 g/t gold.

Resources: Total mineral resources as at December 31, 2017, were estimated at 7.6-million tonnes grading 4.1% copper and 1.6 g/t gold.

Prospects: Sandfire continues to progress a tightly focused, multidisciplinary exploration campaign to test for extensions to the known cluster of volcanic massive sulphide deposits at DeGrussa and Monty.
