Bulk materials handling equipment manufacturers Samson Materials Handling, has launched its upgraded wheeled BF40415T Stormajor, which is a tracked derivative of the Stormajor principle and offers higher performance as well as increased reliability and maneuverability.

This system delivers a cost- effective solution for stockpiling, barge loading, ship loading and rail wagon loading in some of the world’s most arduous conditions at densities of up to 1.6 t/m3 and at capacities of up to 625 m3/h.

The new BF40415T also offers a number of key features and benefits, as it is equipped with a folding 15 m boom and a maximum capacity of 1 000 t/h, which, along with its compact design, enables it to be deployed and operational within minutes of being delivered to site.

The advanced BF40415T large radial range is capable of stockpiling at
about 65˚ and a maximum stockpile value of 3 130 m3.

The unit is easily operated through its remote control umbilical or optional radio control module.

The track-mounted BF40415T has been designed for use with articulated dump trucks of up to 30 t capacity, road tipping trucks hauling 30 t trailers and wheel loaders with a bucket capacity of up to 8 m3.
The Stormajor BF40415T can also be supplied with an interchangeable 20 m boom making it a good solution for owner- operators or fleet owners requiring large stockpiling capacity over multiple sites.

African Availability

Samson Materials Handling equipment is exclusively distributed in sub-Saharan Africa by materials handling equipment specialist Big Lift Trucks South Africa (BLT SA).

“Samson Materials Handling, which was previously known as B&W Mechanical Handling Limited was rebranded at the beginning of 2013. The company, which was established in 1966, offers mobile materials handling equipment with flexibility and reliability from truck intake, through to stacking and shiploading,” says BLT SA products manager Clinton van den Berg.

“The systems’ operating costs are low and maintenance requirements are minimal,” he points out, adding that Samson Materials Handling equipment is designed for specific applications, taking into consideration the differing handling characteristics of each bulk material.
Van den Berg notes that the new additions to the Samson Materials Handling range include telescopic conveyors for radial telescopic stacking and the tracked Stormajor boom feeders.

“These machines are currently being manufactured in the UK and will be launched locally later this year,” he says.
