West Africa-based pumping solutions provider West Africa Pumping Services (Waps) will take advantage of its third appearance at the West African Mining and Power Exhibition (Wampex) to showcase its pumping equipment and spare parts offering, as well as provide details about its ongoing pumps training courses.

Wampex 2014 will take place at the Accra International Conference Centre in Ghana from May 28 to 30.

“We plan to increase end-user awareness of our product range as well as the services that we offer in Ghana, which include our extensive spare parts stockholding, in Accra, and a 48-hour response time to urgent on-site maintenance requests,” explains Waps marketing director Jade King.

King says that Waps has gained significant business from exhibiting at Wampex, adding, “in past years we met new business prospects and created a high level of brand awareness for the company.

“We also gained a lot of attention after introducing new products to the Ghanaian market, such as the Netzsch progressive cavity pump for high-temperature strip solution applications,” she says.

At Wampex 2012, Waps’ goal was to reinforce customer awareness about its pioneer dewatering pump brand, which King says was achieved, adding that the company’s presence in the country has since increased.

Product Training
King says Waps has been delivering pumps training courses to end-users in Ghana since 2011 to expand education about the care and maintenance of the company’s pumps.

“We have provided this service to several gold mines in Ghana, which have purchased our new pioneer dewatering pump sets.

“Through these training sessions we have also ensured that our clients’ maintenance and operational teams fully understand their pumps. This has enabled our clients to achieve the longest possible lifetime for their new equipment.”

Waps offers new customers an on-site basic pumps training course, which spans two to three days and is presented by one of the company’s experienced pumps engineers. The courses can be tailored to a customer’s requirements and expectations.
