Aim-listed Central Asia Metals recorded a strong first-quarter performance and is on track to meet its full-year production guidance for both the Kounrad dump leach, solvent extraction and electrowinning (SX-EW) copper recovery plant, in Kazakhstan, and the Sasa zinc/lead mine in North Macedonia, CEO Nigel Robinson says in an operations updates for the period.

The company expects to produce 12 500 t to 13 500 t of copper for the full-year, while zinc-in-concentrate output is expected to reach 20 000 t to 22 000 t and lead-in-concentrate 27 000 t to 29 000 t.

For the first quarter, Kounrad produced 3 024 t of copper and Sasa 5 240 t of zinc-in-concentrate and 6 736 t of lead-in-concentrate.

Kounrad copper sales amounted to 2 906 t for the quarter.
