South African coal miner Buffalo Coal has appointed Emma Oosthuizen as its CEO.

Oosthuizen has been interim CEO since February 2019 following the resignation of the previous CEO.

She joined Buffalo Coal in March 2018 as VP of finance and was subsequently appointed CFO of the company in October that same year.

On April 7, the board said it was confident that Buffalo Coal, under the leadership of Oosthuizen, along with recently appointed CFO Willie Bezuidenhout, and the existing management team, would continue to focus on executing the company's strategy.
