JSE-listed and China-funded Wesizwe Platinum’s 30-year-life Bakubung platinum mine, near Rustenburg, has reached a new milestone with the cutting of the first level of the ventilation shaft, 690 m below the shaft collar and 45 m above the first intersection of the Merensky reef. October 2015 is the new target date for the main shaft to 970 m and November 2016 is the new completion date for the ventilation shaft to 880 m. Wesizwe also holds 22.5% of two neighbouring projects majority-owned by Maseve Investments 11 and subsidiary African Wide. Maseve is operated by Toronto-listed Platinum Group Metals.
