Baita Plai receives final equipment shipment
All shipments of equipment for Aim-listed gold and polymetals miner Vast Resources’ Baita Plai polymetallic mine, in Romania, have arrived on site.
This sixth, and last shipment, contains slurry pumps for the project, and followed the shipment of underground loaders, pneumatic loaders, ceramic filters and hydro cyclones.
The Baita Plai mine is located in the Apuseni Mountains, Transylvania, an area which hosts Romania’s largest polymetallic and uranium mines. The project is 50 km north-west of Romania’s largest gold and copper mine – Rosia Montana, which contains ten-million ounces of gold, and 52 km north-west of Roșia Poieni, which contains over one-billion tonnes of porphyry copper ore.
Vast reports that testing of Baita Plai’s copper and zinc have been finalised, with encouraging results. The testing of the lead and molybdenum are ongoing.
The company expects to receive the final metallurgical report from Grinding Solutions in August.
The company is also in receipt of the first batch of underground drill hole assays from ALS, with the results being “equally encouraging”, according to Vast.
Further batches of data are expected over the coming weeks. The company will have a complete set of assay results in August.
Vast also reports that the start of underground production will go ahead during the week starting July 27.
First concentrate will be produced in August.
