Canadian gold miner Artemis Gold has appointed Jeremy Langford president, in addition to his role as COO, with effect from January 1, reflecting his increased scope and organisational responsibilities within the company.

Artemis says Langford's appointment reflects his outstanding leadership since joining the company in 2021 in advancing the Blackwater project through the feasibility stage and towards permitting and commencement of major works construction activities at Blackwater.

“Jeremy has held very senior roles with large producers in the industry.  He has led with innovation and experience, progressing Blackwater with outstanding capital management skills and has put together a team second to none in development and operating in our sector,” comments chairperson and CEO Steven Dean.

The company has also announced the appointment of Gerrie van der Westhuizen as CFO and corporate secretary, effective January 1. He is succeeding Chirs Batalha, who has resigned.

For the past two years, Van der Westhuizen has been serving as the VP finance and assistant corporate secretary.
