African mining leaders are preparing to share their strategies for renewable energy at the upcoming Energy and Mines Africa Virtual Summit this May 4-6.

Creamer Media is a media partner for this event which will bring together 400+ senior mining leaders heading energy decisions for African mines with renewable energy, finance and government experts.

The event will showcase the mining companies leading the transition to low-carbon, sustainable mining operations in Africa and address key questions around how mines assess renewable energy options and analyze the commercial structure of these projects. It will also focus on how mining leaders are aligning ESG goals with energy strategy for African operations.

Among the mining presenters confirmed to speak are representatives from B2Gold, Ivanhoe Mines, Trevali, African Gold Group, Rio Tinto, Anglo American, Newmont, Giyani Metals, Gold Fields South Africa, Perseus Mining, Orion Minerals, Syrah Resources, Pan African Resources, AngloGold Ashanti, Impala Platinum, De Beers Group, Sibanye-Stillwater, RIDA Group, Centamin, and Resolute Mining.

“We are delighted to be these mining and energy leaders sharing their energy strategies and addressing key questions around the remaining challenges for integrating low-carbon solutions for mines,” said Adrienne Baker, Director, Energy and Mines. “Africa is a key market for energy innovation and decarbonisation in mining but it’s also a tough market to navigate which is why bringing together these two audiences together is critical for mining’s energy transition.”

Suntrace is a Thought-Leader sponsor for the Summit and Heliogen is a presenting exhibitor. Following 4 successful virtual Summits and 18 in-person events, Energy and Mines will provide a necessary platform for senior energy decision-makers for African mines to connect with renewables, finance, regulatory and government experts.
