Advantage, Nevada Sunrise to drill for lithium
JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) - TSX-listed lithium project developer Advantage Lithium on Monday reported that its exploration partner Nevada Sunrise Gold Corp had received drill permits for three lithium brine projects in Nevada.
The Jackson Wash, Clayton NE and Gemini Lithium projects are three of five projects included in the letter of intent earn-in agreement that Advantage recently signed with Nevada Sunrise.
The company has commissioned and received, for regulatory review, a National Instrument 43-101 report on Jackson Wash, where a first-phase programme of $560 000 has been recommended.
With preparations under way for active exploration, the company has appointed Ross McElroy to the board. McElroy will oversee Advantage’s work programmes and assist in the assessment and acquisition of other top-tier lithium projects in the US and South America.
A drill permit for ten holes was granted to Jackson Wash, located in the Lida Valley, by the US Bureau of Land Management in February, while Clayton NE received a permit for six holes and Gemini a permit for ten holes.
Drill programmes at the projects are planned for the third and fourth quarter, following the closing of the earn-in agreement between Advantage and Nevada.
“Advantage Lithium is making excellent progress [and] McElroy, one of Canada's most successful exploration-focused geologists, officially joining us as both director and technical adviser, we can aggressively continue our strategy of assessing and acquiring strategic, prospective lithium projects,” commented Advantage Lithium director David Sidoo.
