Wenco International Mining Systems, a subsidiary of Hitachi Construction Machinery (HCM), is scheduled to unveil Hitachi’s new global vision for autonomous mining systems at the 2019 Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM) convention, which takes place from April 28 to May 1 in Montreal, Canada.

Wenco offers a suite of mine productivity solutions including fleet management, asset health, proximity detection, mining business analytics and high precision machine guidance solutions. In conjunction with Wenco, HCM will reveal its vision and strategy for advancing open autonomy within mining.

HCM chief technology officer Hideshi Fukumoto will detail Hitachi’s solution linkage vision and open autonomy strategy on Monday, April 29, on CIM’s innovation stage at Montreal’s Palais de Congrès.

The Hitachi group of companies have secured diamond-level sponsorship for the CIM 2019 convention and will lead a number of activities, including a welcome speech at the event’s opening ceremony by Wenco board member David Harvey, technical presentations at various breakout sessions, presentations on the innovation stage and a concluding speech at the event’s closing function on Wednesday, May 1.
