JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – Miner Trans Hex made R180.6-million from its October to December tender sales of South African production, the TSX- and JSE-listed miner reported on Tuesday.
The company sold 20 270.74 ct at an average price of $1 116/ct and an average exchange rate of R7.98 to the dollar.
It reported that ten single stones were sold for an average price of more than $10 000/ct.
The Somiluana mine in Angola, in which Trans Hex holds a 33% stake, realised a total of $4.17-million for 8 538 ct at an average price of $488/ct from October to November.
The next sale of South African production will be held in February 2012.
