Established in 1985, the company is based in a 3 000 m2 factory on a 10 000 m2 site in Bedfordview, Johannesburg. The production process includes the conversion of more than 400 local as well as imported raw materials into finished products through liquid blending, reactions and Z-blade mixing. Equipment employed in the process includes liquid blenders and reactors, Z-blade machines, Nauta mixers, salt spray units, and then forklifts and delivery vehicles. Orlik Speciality Chemicals is currently in the process of qualifying for the ISO 18001 safety standard, and operates according to ISO 9001 quality and ISO 14001 environmental standards. The company employs 43 people at its Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town branches.
Over the last year it has been awarded contracts from companies such as Aerosud, the South African Mint Company, Smiths Plastics and AST Advanced Surface Technologies.
