PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Dual listed Jervois Global is targeting the full concentrator commissioning at its Idaho Cobalt Operations (ICO), in the US, in the coming month, with copper and cobalt concentrates expected early in the second quarter of this year, slightly later than previously anticipated.
The ASX- and TSX-V-listed company on Thursday said that commissioning of the process water system for the mill had been successfully completed, and that underground stoping activities had started at the mine, with more than 25 000 t of mineralised material stored for processing.
However, ongoing labour shortages for qualified electricians have delayed construction progress at the concentrator, with initial ore conversion into concentrate product now expected early in the second quarter.
The ICO complex consists of a 1 200 t/d underground hard-rock mine with a milling and flotation circuit designed to match mining output. Cobalt concentrates from ICO will be processed at the São Miguel Paulista nickel/cobalt refinery in São Paulo, Brazil.
