EMCSA Thought Leadership Summit (EMCSA2023)

EMCSA connects people and present them with an opportunity to spread electric vehicle awareness and further develop and grow the e-mobility sector in South Africa. By bringing together both local and international electric vehicle specialists, the aim is to accelerate the adoption of sustainable mobility solutions in South Africa.

The Thought Leadership Summit (previously known as a conference) hosts policy makers, academia, entrepreneurs, engineering and automotive bodies, development organisations and civil society to discussions that informs the future of mobility in the country.

During the past two conferences (which were held virtually), we hosted roughly 20 speakers at each conference, with online viewers between 100 and 400 for each speaker session.

The theme for EMCSA 2023 Thought Leadership Summit is; South Africa, an EV Friendly Ecosystem. It will cover in particular the following topics: fleet evolution, the link between industry and academia, unlocking opportunities for electric vehicle manufacturing in South Africa, an overview of effective policy measures for promoting EVs, development of infrastructure for an EV ecosystem, the role of power utilities in electro-mobility, skills development and training for the electric future, battery design and manufacturing, the rise of electric vehicles and the evolution of OEM supply chains.

Our mission is to connect people and present them with an opportunity to spread electric vehicle awareness and further develop and grow the e-mobility sector in South Africa.

Bringing together both local and international electric vehicle specialists, we aim to accelerate the adoption of sustainable mobility solutions in South Africa.

Goal

Access to credible information can be a powerful tool for social change. EMCSA’s goal is to make e-mobility information accessible to all.
