Ramaphosa, brother of businessman and former politician Cyril Ramaphosa, and has until recently been with the Absa Group, where he was group executive responsible for communication and public affairs.
He succeeds Michael Spicer, who on March 1, 2005, will take up the position of CEO of the SA Foundation, while remaining on the board of Anglo American Corporation of South Africa.

He played a key role in positioning Absa with different stakeholders and we have no doubt he will do the same at Anglo American,” said deputy CEO of Anglo American Corporation Lazarus Zim.
