Name of the Project

Location
An agreed list of countries, including Australia, will be studied as a location for the plant.

Project Owner/s
Pilbara Minerals and Ganfeng Lithium Group.

Project Description
Pilbara Minerals and Ganfeng signed a binding term sheet in March 2024 to complete a joint feasibility study on an estimated 32 000 t/y downstream conversion plant, fed by an estimated 300 000 t/y of spodumene concentrate, to produce lithium chemicals, along with a potential intermediate lithium chemical product, in Australia.

The feasibility study will enable the parties to identify the optimal lithium chemicals flowsheet and plant location to maximise project economics while meeting agreed environmental, social and governance objectives.

Pilbara Minerals CEO and MD Dale Henderson has said the feasibility study will ultimately provide Pilbara with the option, but not the obligation, to proceed with a lithium chemicals joint venture.
