Schneider Electric, the leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, is pleased to announce that it has made two key appointments in the Anglophone Africa region.

Anoop Hariparsad has been appointed Digital Energy Business Unit Leader for Anglophone Africa, effective from 1 January 2024. He has previously held the position of Offer Manager for Digital Power and has been with the company for 16 years. In his new role, he will manage several marketing activities in the Anglophone Africa region, which is divided into three zones – SADC, East Africa and West Africa.

“There are several targets and goals that I will have to meet in my new role. The Digital Energy business unit has various activities in these zones and there are firm targets for each individual activity that have to be met,” he says.

Hariparsad says that he is currently looking at long-term planning for the next five years, intending to drive the entire business unit into growth and new market spaces in Anglophone Africa, where he would like to see more of Scheider Electric’s Digital Energy products being pushed in the market.

“Previously, we did not have the people to do this, which resulted in a lack of product

knowledge and presence in those regions. One of my passions is to look at how our solutions

and products can help customers make their businesses more successful,” he adds.

H&D Business Unit Leader

Former Senior Marketing Manager for the NEAL cluster Karim Yasser has been promoted to Home and Distribution (H&D) Business Unit Leader for Anglophone Africa, effective from 1 December 2023.

Yasser is currently based in Nairobi, Kenya, and oversees a market of 29 African countries. He has been with Schneider Electric for nine years, holding several serious positions during his time with the company.

In his new role, Yasser emphasises the imperative to stabilise the H&D business unit by nurturing a new team structure and aligning its performance with organisational expectations.

As Business Unit Leader, his responsibilities include a focus on conducting comprehensive market analysis, formulating suitable product offerings and pricing strategies, and directing go-to-market initiatives and value propositions.

Yasser states that his immediate objectives include focusing on driving the adoption of smart home solutions within the Anglophone cluster and addressing market demands by delivering relevant products. He envisions maximising market share through a diversified portfolio tailored to the needs of partners and customers.

Yasser's journey at Schneider Electric started in 2014 as a Senior Distribution/Project Sales Engineer and progressed through various roles including Offer Manager, Channel Marketing Manager and Home and Distribution Marketing Manager within the Schneider Electric NEAL organisation.
