Utah

Utah is a state in the western United States. Its capital is Salt Lake City. The state's economy is diverse, with dominant sectors including mining, energy, technology, tourism and agriculture. Utah sits on the Colorado Plateau, a region known for significant uranium deposits and other mineral resources. The state has historically been a major uranium producer, particularly during the mid-twentieth century when demand for the metal surged for nuclear energy and defence applications. Principal cities include Salt Lake City, Provo and Ogden. Utah's resource base includes uranium, copper, gold, silver, molybdenum, beryllium, oil, natural gas and coal. The state operates under a governor-led executive branch and a bicameral legislature. Utah's significance to business coverage stems from its mining heritage, energy sector activity and growing technology industry, alongside its role as a historic and contemporary uranium production centre in North America.
