Toyota Tsusho is a Japanese trading house and a core member of the Toyota Group, operating as one of Japan's major sogo shosha (general trading companies). Headquartered in Nagoya and Tokyo, the company engages in a diverse range of businesses spanning metals, global parts and logistics, automotive, machinery and energy, chemicals and electronics, food and consumer services, and Africa. Toyota Tsusho has a significant presence in Africa, where it has built extensive operations in automotive distribution, infrastructure development and resource trading. The company is listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange and maintains close ties with Toyota Motor Corporation, serving as a key procurement and logistics partner for the automotive giant. Toyota Tsusho has been active in securing supply chains for critical minerals and rare earths, essential for electric vehicle batteries and advanced manufacturing. The company operates in more than 120 countries and employs tens of thousands of people worldwide. Its Africa division has been particularly prominent, with investments in mining, energy and transport infrastructure across the continent.
