RMB

RMB (Rand Merchant Bank) is a South African corporate and investment banking division of FirstRand Bank Limited, one of the country's largest financial institutions. The bank provides a comprehensive range of financial services including corporate banking, investment banking, advisory services, structured finance, project finance and capital markets solutions. RMB is headquartered in Johannesburg and operates across sub-Saharan Africa as well as in London, serving corporate, institutional and government clients. The bank has established a strong presence in infrastructure and energy financing, particularly in renewable energy projects and independent power producer transactions. RMB is known for its expertise in structuring complex deals and has been involved in numerous landmark transactions across mining, energy, telecommunications and other key sectors. The division forms part of FirstRand Group alongside FNB (First National Bank) and other financial services brands. RMB competes with other major South African investment banks including Nedbank Corporate and Investment Banking, Investec and Absa Corporate and Investment Banking. The bank was established in 1977 as Rand Merchant Bank and became part of FirstRand when the group was formed through a merger in 1998.
