Barrick

Barrick is a Canadian multinational gold mining company and one of the largest gold producers in the world. The company is headquartered in Toronto, Ontario, and operates mines across North America, South America, Africa and the Asia-Pacific region. Barrick is listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the New York Stock Exchange. The company's portfolio includes some of the world's most significant gold and copper assets, with flagship operations including the Nevada Gold Mines joint venture in the United States and the Pueblo Viejo mine in the Dominican Republic. Barrick also holds major copper-gold projects, including a significant stake in the Reko Diq project in Pakistan's Balochistan province. The company employs tens of thousands of people globally and generates annual revenue in the billions of dollars. Barrick has pursued a strategy of focusing on tier-one assets with long mine lives, low costs and significant exploration potential. The company was founded in 1983 by Peter Munk and has grown through organic development and strategic acquisitions to become a leading force in the global mining industry.
