 Abstract: Great Basin Gold has employed some of the workforce for its new Burnstone mine, in Mpumalanga, from the local community, a spokesperson for the company confirmed on Tuesday. This followed allegations that recent protests by some members of the Siyathemba township community, near Balfour was, in part, as a result of the mining company not keeping its promise of hiring half of its Burnstone workforce from the local community.
