PERTH (miningweekly.com) – The government of Burkina Faso has awarded junior gold developer West African Resources a mining permit for its Sanbrado gold project, formerly known as the Tanlouka project.

MD Richard Hyde said on Thursday that with the award of the mining permit, the company would now focus on completing the feasibility study and starting the development of the Sanbrado gold project.

The feasibility study is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of this year.

West African in December received an environmental permit for the Sanbrado project, which has an indicated mineral resource of 9.8-million tonnes, grading 2.1 g/t gold for 670 000 oz of gold, and a further inferred 695 000 oz.
