“We offer a range of electrical connectors that suit all the mining needs for electrical drills, electrical shovels and draglines, and are designed to suit cable sizes from 25 mm2 to 240 mm2. Our connectors are rated from 3.3 kV to 15 kV (600 A) continuously,” explains VIE.
The Janus coupler is manufactured according to customer specifications and is Ingress Protection-rated. Besides allowing the user to extend his/her cable, the Janus coupler also enables the use of same-sex couplers (female-to-female or male-to-male) with an option to choose between one to four pilots. These units can also be manufactured with a skid.
Another option offered by VIE is cable shop management, either on site or off site, designed to meet a mine’s specific needs.
