JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – AngloGold Ashanti has stopped reef-raise development and secondary support operations at its Kopanang mine and tramming activities at its TauTona mine following fatalities.
The gold miner on Monday said a rock-drill operator had been killed in a fall-of-ground incident at Kopanang, while a crew supervisor was killed in a tramming incident at TauTona last week.
