PERTH (miningweekly.com) – ASX-listed Tigers Realm Coal has reported a 170% increase in the resource of its Amaam North project, in Russia.

The project was now estimated to host about 72.3-million tonnes of coal, with 12.6-million tonnes classified as measured, 13.2-million tonnes as indicated and the remaining 46.6-million tonnes as inferred.

The measured and indicated resource base combined increased by nearly 120% compared with the previous combined estimate of 11.8-million.

The new resource estimate was based on 116 drill holes, totalling 9 698 m, outcrop mapping and sampling, as well as structural interpretations of satellite photography and Landsat imagery.

Besides the resource estimate, the project also has an exploration target of between 155-million and 480-million tonnes, and Tigers Realm said on Wednesday that the company would follow up on prospective areas to the south and west of the project.
