The Smarter Solution Underground

Great new products herald an even brighter future for MineSight’s underground clients. MineSight has channeled considerable experience and expertise into illuminating underground mine evaluation and underground mine engineering tasks. Atlas, Stope, Sub-Blocking, Implicit Modeler and a host of new CAD tools are the result. “MineSight is renowned for its open-pit applications,” says MineSight President, John Davies. “Our goal is to leave no one in any doubt that MineSight is the only software worth considering underground.”

MineSight Atlas and MineSight Sub-Blocking open a new world of modeling and activity-based scheduling underground. Paired with MineSight Stope, Decline Design and Room and Pillar tools, the pursuit of productivity is now even brighter beneath the surface.

Clients see the benefits.

“I think MineSight is definitely heading in the right direction as far as underground is going,” says Dayle Rusk of Trevali Mining Corporation, a zinc-focused base metals development company with active operations in Canada and Peru. “That niche in the industry really needs to be addressed and no other software company is addressing it.”

Principal Resource Geologist, Tim Schwarz, uses MineSight’s underground suite daily at HudBay’s Manitoba division. “From the standpoint of geology it’s the ability, certainly, to use it in a 3D mode,” says Schwarz. “All our deposits have gone through multiple phases of deformation, so it’s not a simple strike that just continues forever; it’s continually changing. “So, the ability to rotate the actual ore shapes and ore lenses and see how the drillholes are interacting and cut sections in different ways allows us to provide a better understanding of what’s underground in the best 3D shape of these ore lenses as we possibly can for it.”
