The Harare Indaba Zimbabwe Investment Summit

21st February 2020

The 3rd annual Harare Indaba – a one-day conference focused on investing in resources and mining in Zimbabwe – takes place on Thursday 26th March 2020 at the Maslow Hotel in Sandton, Johannesburg.

Set up by Resources for Africa, the custodians of the annual Joburg Indaba for mining and investment and chaired by SA mining industry expert Bernard Swanepoel, the 2020 Harare Indaba offers an opportunity for industry leaders, government and investors to gather for high-level strategic discussions on Zimbabwe as an investment destination.

The Indaba will focus on the sectors crucial for the development of the country’s economy, including mining, telecommunications, financial services and agribusiness and will offer industry representatives the opportunity to engage with the Zimbabwean Government delegation on how they can work together to overcome obstacles to growth and investment.

Business leaders, investors and economists will address crucial questions, including the realities of doing business in Zimbabwe, the opportunities for expansion or new operations, the drivers of economic stability, and the current perceptions of Zimbabwe as an investment destination.

Speakers include Zimplats Holdings CEO Alex Mhembere; Eunomix CEO Claude Baissac, a specialist in sustainable development, growth and strategy; and Fiona Perrott-Humphrey, an independent senior adviser to Rothschild & Co’s Mining Team, London.

Under invitation in the senior delegation from Zimbabwe is the Minister of Finance Hon. Prof. Mthuli Ncube and Minister of Mines & Mining Development Hon. Winston Chitando.
