JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – West Africa-focused diamond development company Stellar Diamonds will sell up to 4 439 ct from trial mining at its Baoulé kimberlite project, in the Aredor area of Guinea, this month.

The Aim-listed company on Thursday said the diamond auction would be held in Dubai and Antwerp through the eDiamond auction platform.

“The goods will be available to view at the offices of eDiamond in Dubai from the May 10 to 13, and in Antwerp from May 18 to 25, with the auction expected to close at the end of May,” it said in a statement.

Qualified interested and compliant groups could also arrange to view the goods by registering with eDiamond.

This second diamond sale was part of Stellar Diamonds’ anticipated regular sales process from the trial mining of Baoulé where a total of 15 000 ct were targeted to establish the diamond grade, value and presence of large diamonds in the kimberlite pipe.

Stellar earned $417 122 in its maiden auction in March.
