PERTH (miningweekly.com) – A specialist recovery team has been called in at the Henty gold mine, in Tasmania, to recover the body of a miner that died last week.

The miner, who was identified as 44-year-old Cameron Goss, went missing after an earth collapse early on Thursday last week.

Mining contractor PYBAR on Monday said that specialist personnel have assisted the site team and have formulated several concurrent plans for the recovery of Goss and a loader. A range of specialist equipment required to assist the recovery have also been mobilised to site.

Meanwhile, underground activities to prepare the area for the recovery operations are also ongoing under the supervision and direction of the Coroner and regulatory bodies.

Operations at Henty remain suspended.
