The Sishen lower-grade project Phase 1, or jig discard project, aims to produce additional jig-quality product through the liberation and/or beneficiation of waste material from the Sishen jig plant.

The project will target the –25+1 mm fraction of the jig discard stream currently being deposited onto the waste dump.

The project could potentially produce 1.7-million tons a year of fine ore over a 20-year project life.
