Saraji operations halted following fatality

PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Mining major BHP has suspended operations at its Saraji coal mine, in Queensland, following a fatality at the site.

The miner said on Tuesday that details of the incident were still being established, and an investigation was currently under way.

The Saraji opencut mine is a joint venture operations between BHP and Mitsubishi, and was acquired by the partners in 2008.
