REVIVING TRADITION

South West Britain’s 3 000-year mining history is being revived with the development in the area of what is set to be the world’s third-biggest tungsten mine. Drakelands, being developed by the ASX- and Aim-listed Wolf Minerals, will be Britain’s first new metal mine in 40 years. Photographed in the developing openpit are Wolf UK operations manager Jeff Harrison with John Drake. Also see page 12 of this edition of Mining Weekly.
