REGAINING LOST SPARKLE

South Africa has lost so much diamond sparkle that any successful regain will come off a much-reduced base. At last week’s Diamond Indaba, Mineral Resources Deputy Minister Godfrey Oliphant, pictured, expressed the view that opportunities for local diamond beneficiation continue to beckon and urged South Africans to win this battle through collaborations and trust. He emphasised the need to remain globally competitive and restated the commitment of government and its State entities to the sustainable growth of the sector.
