PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Diversified mining and metals company PT Antam has told shareholders that it would focus on increasing its gold output during 2014.
The Jakarta-based miner sold 301 928 oz of gold during 2013, a 34% increase on the 2012 sales volumes, but said on Thursday that it was targeting a further 45% increase in gold sales, to 436 286 oz in 2014.
In early December 2013, the Indonesian government and the House of Representatives Commission agreed to implement a ban on the export of unprocessed ores.
Meanwhile, the miner was also targeting a ferronickel production of some 19 700 t during the full 2014, which was a 36% increase on the 2013 sales volumes. Antam was also expected to sell its first batch of the new chemical grade alumina commodity in 2014.
