PERTH (miningweekly.com) – The Italian Ministry of Economic Development has granted ASX-listed PO Valley a production concession for a new onshore gasfield close to existing producing infrastructure.

Po Valley said on Wednesday that the Sant Alberto production concession, near Bologna, covers an area of 19.51 km2 and was close to the producing Sillaro gasfield, which is also wholly-owned by Po Valley.

The Sant Alberto offers 2P reserves of some two-billion cubic feet of gas, with an expected peak production capability of 29 500 m3 a day. First gas from the project was excepted in 2018, with major Shell already contracted to take all output from the new project.

“Installation of the new field’s above-ground infrastructure will be completed by the end of the second quarter 2018, and include a gas separation and hydration system, nitrogen generation and tanking and venting facilities,” Po Valley chairperson Michael Masterman said on Wednesday.
