PERTH (miningweekly.com) – ASX-listed Empire Resources has poured its first gold at the Penny’s Find gold mine, in Western Australia.

The company on Wednesday said that the gold bar was poured at the Lakewood toll milling facility from a portion of the gravity gold recovered in the processing of Penny’s Find ore.

Further gold pours of gravity and leach circuit gold are expected later this week from the Lakewood mill.

The Lakewood mill treatment agreement was in addition to the existing ore treatment agreement in place with Maximus Resources at its Burbanks toll milling facility, at Coolgardie.

Up to 150 000 t of ore from Penny’s Find will be supplied to the Burbanks gold treatment plant.

Some 9 000 t of Penny’s Find ore has been stockpiled at the Lakewood mill to date, with an additional 16 000 t of ore transported to the Burbanks toll milling facility.

A gold pour from the Burbanks facility is expected later this week.
