PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Nickel producer Panoramic Resources has told shareholders that it was on track to meet its full 2015 production guidance of between 20 000 t and 21 000 t of contained nickel in concentrate.

The assurance comes despite the fact that Panoramic reported a 7% quarter-on-quarter production decline in the three months to December, producing 4 832 t of nickel in concentrate.

The decrease in production was owing to a four-day planned maintenance shutdown at the Savannah mill during the month of December. During the shutdown, some corrosion issues were identified to the concentrate thickener and the mill was down for a further six days to perform preventative maintenance.

Meanwhile, mining was started at the Copernicus openpit operation in late November, and some 6 000 t of ore was blended and processed with the Savannah ore in the month of December.

Production at the Lanfranchi operation remained stable.

Panoramic was expected to release its full quarterly report later this month.
